"We Matter!"

The Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate is committed to supporting the physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing of all staff.  We do this by providing a range of information and resources on our Wellbeing Wall, which is currently in situ within Pharmacy Department, Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and provides an area for information, advice, support and referral to helpful resources.

As part of this commitment to staff wellbeing, our team has a designated Peer Support lead, Louise McCafferty (Senior Pharmacist) who is available to staff for support and advice. Louise explains,

"The peer support service has been progressing well and I hope that staff are now more aware of what services are available. Information on peer support can be found on NHS Fife Stafflink, the online staff information system, as well as the Health and Wellbeing hub.

We all encounter difficult situations, and these have the potential to cause distress. Peer supporters can offer a voluntary, confidential supportive conversation. I have provided some of these conversations to my colleagues and have also created a Health and Wellbeing wall for the pharmacy department. The past couple of years have been difficult for us all in different ways and it has emphasised the need to be kind to one another.
